Assistant Chief Fire Officer
What does your job involve?
As Assistant Chief Fire Officer I have responsibility for the Service Delivery directorate - including Fire Control, National Resilience, Community Risk, Training, HR, Corporate Communications, and all fire stations in HWFRS.
When did you start working for the Service?
I joined HWFRS in 1992 and was initially based at Worcester Fire Station but have since worked across the organisation in a variety of roles. Working in all three districts and in various support departments has given me a unique perspective on the Service, as has living in both counties. Before my current role, I was Head of Operations, with responsibility for operational service delivery through the three districts and the 27 fire stations in the Service.
Why do you like working for HWFRS?
One of the main reasons I like working for HWFRS is that despite being a relatively small FRS we maintain a good reputation and consistently deliver an excellent service.
What interests do you have outside of work?
I have two young children who keep me busy outside of work, but when the opportunities arise I enjoy cycling, mountain walking and travel.
