CFO's Personal Assistant
What does your job involve?
As Personal Assistant to the Chief Fire Officer, my role mainly involves ensuring that he is in the right place, at the right time, with the right paperwork. In addition to this, I provide a high quality, confidential support service which includes diary management, researching, making connections and generally assisting with the smooth running of the organisation.
When did you start working for the Service?
I joined the Service in 1989 and over the years I have worked for three other Chief Fire Officers. Prior to joining HWFRS, I successfully completed a two year Private Secretarial Studies Course at Evesham College, following which I secured my first job as a PA to the Group Technical Director at Schloetter Co Ltd in Pershore. I then moved to Amsterdam and worked for the American Airline firm, General Electrics, in Schiphol Airport and subsequently the Arab American Trust Fund before taking up my role at HWFRS. In 2014, I also completed a University Diploma in Leadership and Management.
Why do you like working for HWFRS?
At HWFRS there is a distinct family atmosphere and I am incredibly fortunate to work with some amazing staff who regularly go the extra mile every single day to ensure we provide an excellent service. I also enjoy the new challenges that regularly arise which keep my job fresh and interesting.
What interests do you have outside of work?
I love eating out, socialising and holidaying in Turkey. Other than that, most of my free time mainly revolves around my family.
