Our work
Each year, the Service attends a wide variety of incidents including property and countryside fires, road traffic collisions, water rescues, rope rescues, collapsed structures, hazardous materials and animal rescues.
As well as responding to emergencies, the Service also undertakes preventative activities to ensure that incidents don't happen in the first place. This includes everything from road safety workshops for young people to home safety Safe and Well checks for vulnerable people in our communities.
In this section, you can read about some examples of our work, all of which contributes towards Saving More Lives:
- Keeping young drivers safe
- water safety exercises
- Stand Up to Cancer
- Furlong Fury
- Firefighters win lifesaving competition
