Local Code of Conduct Complaints Process
Changes to the complaints procedure

On 8 May 2008 the responsibility for considering complaints that a member may have breached the Code of Conduct moved to the standards committees of local authorities.

What this means to you
From now on if you want to complain about the conduct of a member of Hereford and Worcester Fire & Rescue Authority you must submit your complaint to:

The Monitoring Officer at Herefordshire County Council, Brockington, 35 Hafod Road, Hereford, Herefordshire, HR1 1SH. Tel: (01432) 260000.

If you make a complaint to the Monitoring Officer it must be about why you think a member has not followed the Code of Conduct. The assessment sub-committee can only deal with complaints about the behaviour of a member. It will not deal with complaints about things that are not covered by the members’ Code of Conduct.

Please note that this complaints process only applies to alleged breaches of the Code of Conduct by Authority Members.  If you have complaints regarding any other area of the Service, please contact us via tel: 084512 24454 or email ccc@hwfire.org.uk
