Whitchurch Chimney Fire

At 16:45hrs on Saturday 1st May 2010, firefighters were called to reports of a chimney fire involving a woodburning stove at a property in Sandiway Lane, Whitchurch, Herefordshire. Fire crews from Whitchurch and Ross-on-Wye attended the incident and on arrival found one woodburner well alight in the lower part of the chimney.


Firefighters used a thermal imaging camera and cut away parts of the building to identify hot-spots, then utilised chimney equipment to extinguish the flames. The building was later re-inspected.
