Warning Following Car Fire
A crew from Kidderminster attended along with an off-road vehicle from Bewdley, arriving to find a car and some tyres on fire in the field some distance from the road.
Crew Commander Neil Bennett from HWFRS said: "The fire was a considerable distance from the road and access through the field was a challenge for the crews."
He explained that firefighters used a hose reel from the Pinzgauer off-road vehicle as they tackled the blaze and also set up a water shuttle from the fire engine at the roadside, bringing the fire under control just after 10pm.
The car was completely destroyed in the blaze.
He confirmed that police also attended the incident and that the landowner had been given advice on securing access to the field. He urged all landowners to ensure that their land is properly secured to help avoid incidents of this nature and the risk of fly-tipping.
