Busy spell for Kingsland firefighters

Their first call was to a road traffic collision along the A4110 at Bush Bank in Kingsland at around 6.15pm last night (Tuesday 6 December). The Kingsland crew and two further crews from Hereford attended, and used hydraulic cutting gear to release casualties trapped inside the two vehicles involved. All three occupants were freed by 7.55pm and treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital by land ambulance.

The Kingsland crew was then called out at 6.25am this morning (Wednesday 7 December) to a road traffic collision in Ledicot Lane in Shobdon where a car had overturned. A female casualty was treated by ambulance staff at the scene while firefighters helped remove the car from the road and make it safe before heading on to their next call.

This was a cooker fire at a property in Shobdon which had been extinguished by the owners earlier in the morning. Fire officers inspected the kitchen area and used thermal imaging equipment to ensure that fire was fully extinguished, and also gave home fire safety advice to the occupants. The crew left the property just after 7.30am.
