Evesham wall collapse 1 2

This morning (08 February), Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service was called reports of a collapsed garden wall that had injured two children in Bretforton, Evesham.

Two fire engines from Evesham attended the incident along with the heavy rescue unit from Droitwich Spa. Police and the air ambulance were also in attendance.

Two young children (one male and one female) were rescued from the rubble and were treated at the scene by paramedics for serious leg injuries. Both children were then transferred to hospital via air ambulance. Fire crews searched through the rubble and it was confirmed that no further casualties were found. The scene was then made safe.

Station Commander Steve Fox said: "All of the emergency services worked closely together to swiftly rescue and treat the children, who were then promptly transferred to hospital via air ambulance to give them the best possible care."
