Firefighters to make a splash at city fire station
Worcestershire residents are being given the opportunity to support their local firefighters this weekend with a charity car wash taking place on Saturday (12th March) at Worcester Fire Station, McKenzie Way, Worcester.
Firefighters up and down the country are preparing to roll up their sleeves to take part in the National Car Wash this weekend, in support of The Fire Fighters Charity. The charity helps to raise vital funds to support members who are in need of rehabilitation and recuperation treatments.
Motorists are invited to take their car along between 10am and 4pm on 12th March and have it washed in return for a donation to the charity. The event at Worcester Fire Station will also give firefighters the unique opportunity to interact with a large cross-section of their community as well as promote important community fire safety initiatives and campaigns.
Watch Commander Rebecca Fawkes from Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue said: "Money raised through national fundraising initiatives provides a real boost to The Fire Fighters Charity. As well as being a fun and popular event, the day also gives people the opportunity to seek safety advice or book a free home fire safety check. We're encouraging everyone to come along to support this event."
