Emergency Services open day a success

in News

Crew Commander Martin Greenhouse from Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said: “Saturday was a lovely day weather-wise, and it certainly helped attract the crowds along to the open day.

“As always, there was a great deal of interest in the specialist equipment and vehicles on display, and the demonstrations staged throughout the day also proved popular.

“Our younger visitors were particularly interested in the new ‘smoke tent’ which is filled with artificial smoke and used to highlight the importance of staying low in the event of a fire in your home and having an escape route planned.

“Our USAR (Urban Search & Rescue) display also attracted lots of interest, possibly because the team brought along the USAR dog!”

He thanked all those who attended and those who worked hard to make the day the success it was.
