The Service is launching a recruitment campaign for its Community Volunteer Programme, which offers the chance to make a difference within your community, to meet new people and to support a wide range of training activities. A comprehensive training package and uniform are provided and travelling expenses will be reimbursed.

The Service is urging anyone with a few hours to spare each week to consider volunteering. Becky Valender, Community Safety Advisor, HWFRS said: "Effective safety awareness can make a real difference to people's lives. We particularly work with the elderly and with vulnerable people. It's rewarding work and a fantastic way of getting more involved in your local community."

Becky Valender urged anyone interested in finding out more about the role of a Volunteer with HWFRS to email volunteer@hwfire.org.uk or to telephone 0800 032 1155.

The closing date for applications is Friday 20th November 2015 at 5.00pm. Interviews will take place in Herefordshire and Worcestershire at a later date
