Positive Action Sub Group Volunteers

All applicants should have a keen interest in the equality and diversity agenda and how this links with providing a fire and rescue service to the communities within Herefordshire and Worcestershire. Applications will be particularly welcomed, but not limited to, those individuals who have protected characteristics as defined by the Equality Act, and/or have involvement with community groups.

The core function of the Positive Action Sub Group will be to recommend positive actions and initiatives to the Equality and Diversity Advisory Group in order to seek improvements in (1) recruitment and retention of under-represented parts of the community and (2) service delivery practices.

The Group will meet on a quarterly basis, or as necessary, and will be chaired by the Senior HR Advisor who leads on Equality and Diversity. Membership will include uniformed and support staff from within the Service, Service volunteers as well as members of the local community.
