Brick-built shed destroyed in fire
Crews from Bromsgrove and Kidderminster attended along with a Hazmat (Hazardous Materials) Officer, a water carrier from Evesham and two further crews from West Midlands Fire Service, and the fire was brought under control with two ground monitors and a hose reel jet used.
Station Commander Ian Jallands from HWFRS explained that the presence of an acetylene cylinder at the premises created an extra challenge for crews and this had to be cooled and checked at regular intervals to ensure there was no further risk of explosion.
The stop message was finally given just before 2am this morning (Monday 15 April).
No one was hurt during the incident but the 8 x 4 metre shed and its contents were completely destroyed.
