Fire at house in Kingsland
Crews from Leintwardine, Kingsland and Leominster attended, arriving to find the whole property smoke-logged and the possibility of people inside.
A fire in a bedroom was brought under control with four firefighters in breathing apparatus, two hose reels and one covering jet used, and a thorough search of the property confirmed that there was no one inside.
Firefighters also rescued a dog from the property but were unable to save a cat.
Station Commander Gary Jay from HWFRS said: “The fire had broken out in a cupboard off a bedroom upstairs and there was fire damage in the bedroom, severe smoke damage throughout the first floor and water damage on the ground floor where pipes had burst.”
