Road Traffic Collision on M5
Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service (HWFRS) was alerted to the incident just after 11.15am and fire crews from Bromsgrove, Droitwich and Worcester attended, joining police, ambulance and the Highways Agency at the scene.
Station Commander Stuart Crebbin from HWFRS explained: “We arrived to find that a car was in collision with the central barrier, and had landed on its roof in the outside lane. A male casualty was physically trapped inside the car and firefighters worked alongside ambulance staff to release him. He was then taken by ambulance to hospital.”
He confirmed that the motorway was closed for safety reasons while the rescue was underway, and that fire crews left the scene at 11.45am.
