Serious Fire at Wisemans Dairies

Fire engines from Droitwich (x2), Worcester (x2), Malvern (x1), Bromsgrove (x1), Kidderminster (x1), Stourport (x1), Ross-on-Wye & Upton-upon-Severn (Special Foam Units), Environmental Protection Unit, Command Support Unit along with an Aerial Ladder Platform (ALP) with a compliment of 75 firefighters attended a serious fire on the second floor of a large dairy factory.

Crews in Breathing Apparatus were committed to the building to extinguish the fire which damaged 25% of the second floor. During the incident, crews had to contend with structural damage to ceilings and walls and the fire was successfully brought under control within five hours of the initial call.

Area Commander Keith Chance from HWFRS said: “This was a particularly complex incident due to the nature and layout of the building and the intensity of the fire. Fire Service personnel worked closely with on-site specialists and Western Power to resolve the incident quickly and avoid further fire spread.”

Fire investigators are now working with on-site specialists to establish the cause of the fire but it is not thought to be suspicious.
