Shobdon Lorry Fire

Fire crews from Kingsland and Leominster arrived at the scene to find an eight-wheeler wood chipper lorry partially on fire under the cab. Firefighters used two hose reel jets to extinguish the flames.

Crew Commander Simon Powney from HWFRS said: "The driver took the correct actions and was quick to call for help – this meant that with our early arrival we were able to raise the cab and extinguish the fire using hose reels. With no major damage to the cab, it is expected that the lorry will be back on the road before Christmas – which is good news for the driver, his company and their customers."

Police were also in attendance for traffic management whilst the vehicle was made safe. The stop message was given at 5.46pm.
