Nine fire engines at large fire in Leominster

Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service (HWFRS) was called to attend a large fire at a commercial premises in Leominster at 15:08 today.

Members of the public are being asked to proceed with caution down Bridge Street into North Road where the B4361 crosses the River Lugg, to enable access by emergency services vehicles.

An outbuilding has been destroyed and fire crews are using breathing apparatus, hose reel jets, and the aerial ladder platform to fight the fire in an adjoining two-storey building containing storage units.

Paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service checked two adult casualties at the scene.

HWFRS is liaising with our blue light partners and also with environmental agencies, public health organisations and utility companies to manage the incident.

An investigation is underway to establish the cause of the fire.
