Horse rescued from swimming pool

Firefighters from Kidderminster attended the incident, and on arrival they found a horse in 4 foot of water in a swimming pool. Fire crews had to pump the water out of the pool using a light portable pump in order to get the water level down.

Crew Commander Debbie Davies from HWFRS said: “The horse, called Freya, was a calm horse and certainly could not have climbed out of the pool unaided. We were able to build a set of steps out of straw bales so that the horse could climb out of the pool.”

She added “Freya climbed out of the pool safely and returned to her stable, thankfully she was none the worse for her adventure”.
