Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service (HWFRS) is currently looking for 13-17 year olds in the Redditch area to join the Young Firefighters Association (YFA), which helps young people challenge themselves, make new friends, learn exciting firefighting skills and help their communities.

For any young thrill seekers that want to find out more, an awareness evening will be held at Redditch Fire Station, Birmingham Road, on Thursday 1 February 2018 at 7pm.

New members of the YFA will undertake a 13 week training course where they will learn plenty of firefighting skills, which will then be demonstrated at a passing out parade. As well as spending time learning new skills on the training yard, YFA members also get the opportunity to attend an annual camp and undertake lots of fun activities.

Becky Valender, YFA leader said: "Members of the YFA get to learn all about the fire and rescue service as well as participate in new and exciting activities that they wouldn't normally get a chance to do!"

If you are interested in attending the awareness evening, please email redditchyfa@hwfire.org.uk or call 01527 62223.
