House Fire Worcester

The incident, which happened at just before 1.30pm today, was attended by three fire crews from Worcester Fire Station.

On arrival at the house in Dove Close they discovered a severe fire on the ground floor of the property. Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus went inside the house and two hose reels were used to extinguish the fire.

Station Commander Bob Sproat said: “The firefighters worked quickly and professionally to bring the fire under control and to stop it spreading through the house. Thankfully the fire was contained to the ground floor.”

The male casualty was treated by paramedics at the scene but he was not taken to hospital.

Following the fire crews visited neighbouring properties to talk to residents about fire safety in the home.

A fire investigation into the cause of the fire is now underway.
