Fatal House Fire

Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service (HWFRS) were called to the address in Bishop Hall Crescent, Bromsgrove at 4.27pm.

Four fire appliances were deployed to the incident and on arrival firefighters were faced with a severe fire involving the first floor and roof space of the semi-detached property.

Crews wearing Breathing Apparatus were immediately committed to the property to search for an occupant known to be inside.

Crews battled through an intense fire to reach the occupant however sadly he was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Group Commander Mick Cadman from HWFRS said: ‘Crews arrived quickly at the scene and performed with a great deal of skill and bravery however sadly the gentleman lost his life, and our thoughts go out to his family and friends’.

He commended the work of Police and Ambulance who also attended the incident and confirmed that a full investigation into the fire is underway.
