Worcester Fire Station Open Day
Admission to the event is free with something to interest all age groups.
Several thousand people attended this event in 2012 & 2013 and this year’s Open Day promises to be just as successful.
The event, now in its seventh year, is being hosted by Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service (HWFRS) and will include some fascinating demonstrations by the emergency and rescue services.
Many agencies will be there to support the event including The Fire Fighters Charity, West Mercia Police, Mercia Accident Rescue Service (MARS) as well as Blood Donors. This event is being supported by Worcester BID who are holding their 8th Annual Motor Festival in the City Centre on the same day.
Events and attractions planned for this year include:
- Static Water Rescue Display
- Road Traffic Collision Demonstrations
- Equipment and Squad Drill demonstrations
- Smoke House Demonstration
- Community Advice
There will also be competitions with prizes to be won.
Station Commander Toby Kempton from HWFRS said: “Worcester Fire Station Open Day is a chance for the emergency services to come together to highlight a range of safety issues in the home, on the roads and on the water. As in previous years, there will be something for all the family to watch, enjoy and take part in, and at the same time, our firefighters and partner agencies will have the opportunity to show the community the kind of work we are called to respond to on a daily basis.
“It’s certainly an event we look forward to ourselves and we hope that people will come along with their family and friends.”
