Water Rescue, Stourport

Crews from Stourport and Kidderminster attended along with the water rescue boat from Worcester, joining police and paramedics at the scene. An elderly man had become stranded in the marina after falling from his boat.

Station Commander Grant Wills from H&WFRS explained: "Our crews, who are trained in water rescue, were quickly at the marina and were able to use ladders to create a bridge to reach the stranded man and bring him to safety."

The man, who was cold and wet following his ordeal, was assessed by paramedics at the scene and then taken to hospital for precautionary checks.
