Fire in Derelict Factory

The first of nine calls reporting the incident was received at 2.35am on Saturday 21 May and fire engines from both Droitwich and Bromsgrove attended.

On arrival, firefighters found a fire on the ground floor of the disused premises which they tackled with the use of one main line and two hose reel jets. Firefighters also used breathing apparatus as there was believed to be asbestos roofing in the area where the fire had broken out.

The stop message was given at 3.30am.

Station Commander Steve Fox from H&WFRS said: "Crews were at the incident within minutes and the fire was quickly extinguished with no one injured and damage limited to the roof panels at the disused factory."

The fire is believed to have been started deliberately.
