Join us at the Bromyard Gala
The main event, which runs from Saturday 7 until Sunday 8 July, is expected to attract around 20,000 visitors over the two days.
Fire crews from Bromyard will be joined on the stand by colleagues from the Ambulance Service as well as by other departments within the Fire Service, including Community Safety.
While the key themes for the Fire and Rescue Service stand will be fire safety, road safety and community engagement, recognising that many visitors to the show will be from more rural communities, HWFRS will also be promoting rural road safety and chimney fire prevention.
There will be a range of vehicles and equipment on display from the Fire Service and the public will have the chance to enter a free fire safety quiz, identifying hazards and potential causes of fire in a specially-built burnt room display. Watch Commander Simon Halling from Bromyard said: "We see the Gala as an excellent opportunity to show people the type of incidents we get called to and to highlight some important safety messages. This will include taking care on the roads and near water, having chimneys swept regularly to help prevent chimney fires and reminding people to test smoke alarms once a week."
He added: “There will be plenty to interest visitors of all ages over the two days of the show, and we hope people will stop by at our stand and take a closer look. Crews will be taking part in a number of drills to showcase the range of skills we have, from cutting a casualty out of a car to demonstrating our water rescue techniques."
