Inquiry into boats fire at Upton Marina
Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service (HWFRS) is conducting an inquiry into the boats fire at Upton Marina on Thursday 25 July.
The exact cause will be confirmed next week, but is not thought to be suspicious.
HWFRS was called to the incident at 12:19 and crews from seven fire engines and two rescue boats fought the fires on four boats moored in the marina.
The incident was live for over four hours. Relief crews remained at the incident for re-inspection until nightfall.
Group Commander Mick Cadman of HWFRS reminded boat owners that: “During hot weather, fuel needs to be handled with extra care as fuel vapours are highly flammable.”
