Swan rescue

Crews were alerted to the incident at round 3.20pm following a call from the RSPCA reporting that the swan was in difficulty in the water, with a fishing hook in its mouth and a fishing line entangled around its legs.

Station Commander Neil Pigott from HWFRS said: "Our water rescue team entered the pond, and the swan was quickly brought out of the water to safety. It was then taken by the RSPCA to a swan rescue centre"

He confirmed that incidents of this nature are invaluable for water rescue training, both for the water rescue team and other crews attending.
