Malvern Fire Station Open Day
On 22 September, Malvern held their Fire Station Open Day, with an overall theme of Health & Wellbeing.
With the assistance of partner agencies and charities, the people of Malvern were offered free prostate blood tests, breast cancer awareness, general and mental health awareness, CPR training and much more.
Other activities such as community fire safety advice provided by our Service volunteers, RTC extrication demonstration by Wholetime and On-Call crews and fire engine rides by the YFA all assisted in making the event a great success.
Thanks also go to the efforts of our colleagues from Payroll, Sonja and Tania (guess the teddy’s name), retired Watch Commander Saul Bolton and his wife Claire (home-made cakes stand) and all other volunteers on the day. Due to their efforts we managed to raise an impressive £1,000 for The Fire Fighters Charity and other local charities.
Finally, a big thank-you goes to Crew Commander Danielle Chinn for all her hard work and dedication when overseeing the entire event.
We look forward to similar success next year.
