Evesham ‘Everest’ Climb

in News

Local crews from Evesham Fire Station will be in the market square on Friday, November 30, where they will attempt to climb the height of Mount Everest.

Firefighters will pitch two 13.5 meter ladders side by side, climbing one and descending the other until they reach the height of 8848 meters. They want to take on this challenge to raise much needed funds for Children in Need, and the Fire Fighters Charity.

During the fund-raising event passers-by will also have the opportunity to talk to firefighters about fire safety in the home. They will also be able to book a free Home Fire Safety Check.

Station Commander Guy Palmer said: “It would be great to see lots of people there encouraging the firefighters and we would be grateful to receive any donations for these good causes.

“We will also be there giving out advice to the public because we know that smoke alarms help to save lives.”
