Woman and child rescued from flat fire in Kidderminster

Fire crews from Wyre Forest dealt with a serious fire in a flat in Kidderminster last night (27 November) and rescued two people.

Calls were received at 9.50pm about a flat above a commercial premises in Horsefair being on fire. Four engines from Kidderminster, Bewdley and Stourport Fire Stations all attended along with one from Bromsgrove.

Firefighters rescued a woman and a boy who are currently being treated in hospital.

West Mercia Police is treating the fire as suspicious and detectives are working with fire investigators to establish to cause.
