Underground Fire Closes Ledbury Road

At 4.42pm on Thursday 29th July 2010 Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service were called to reports of smoke issuing from a manhole cover on the Ledbury Road, Tupsley, Hereford.

Central Networks isolated the supply to an underground junction box that was on fire and two crews from Hereford Fire Station used Carbon Dioxide extinguishers to bring the electrical fire under control.

Due to the nature of the incident Police were called to close the road and the gas board attended to check for possible leaks. The incident was closed at 6:18pm.
