  • Worcester Cathedral rope rescue

    Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service (HWFRS), and ambulance crews attended a specialised rescue at height from Worcester Cathedral bell tower.

    Two crews from Worcester and a specialist Rope Rescue team from Malvern were called to assist the ambulance service at 16:57pm on 11 February 2017.

  • House fire in Worcester

    Monday 13 February 2017

    Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service (HWFRS), police and ambulance crews attended a house fire in Cherry Tree Walk, Worcester on 11 February 2017.

    HWFRS received an initial emergency call at 08:34am, followed by numerous further calls, reporting a significant fire in a three storey terraced property. In total 5 fire appliances and an aerial appliance were deployed to the incident.

  • Nearly three quarters of consumers risk missing dangerous product recalls

    Research undertaken by Electrical Safety First shows that many British consumers could be taking dangerous risks in their homes by not registering their electrical products. Despite a number of high profile safety notices and product recalls* issued during the last year, nearly three quarters of British consumers say that they don't always register their electrical appliances. Furthermore, the research shows that three in ten consumers never register electrical products.

  • Man rescued from Hereford flat fire

    Early yesterday morning (29 January), firefighters rescued a man from a flat fire in Springfield Avenue, Hereford. The Service was called at approximately 3:45am and three crews from Hereford Fire Station attended the incident.

  • Fire in Worcester apartment building

    Friday 27 January 2017

    Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service received reports of a fire in a residential apartment building on Princes Drive, Worcester at approximately 8.15pm on Thursday evening (26 January).

    Three fire engines from Worcester Fire Station arrived swiftly at the scene and on arrival the crews were faced with a fire within the communal stairwell of a two-storey building. The staircase itself was heavily smoke-logged.
