No Smoking Day

National No Smoking Day takes place on Wednesday 9 March and while the main focus of the campaign will be to encourage smokers to give up the habit, Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service (H&WFRS) plans to use the opportunity to highlight the fire risks associated with smoking.

Further Chimney Fires Spark Renewed Warning

Hereford and Worcester Fire & Rescue Service (H&WFRS) re-issued its chimney safety advice last week following five chimney fires across the two counties last weekend, but despite these warnings, a further nine incidents were reported this weekend (between Friday 25 and Monday 28 February).
