IRMP Consultation

Residents Invited to Have Their Say on Fire Service Plan
There are just over two weeks left for Herefordshire and Worcestershire residents to have their say on a plan which will help shape the future of their Fire Service.
The 12-week consultation on Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service’s Integrated Risk Management Plan (IRMP) will close on Friday, September 5, 2008.
The IRMP sets out how the Service intends to improve community safety and remain efficient. It also proposes a broad range of priorities which will be delivered over a three year period.
Chief Fire Officer Paul Hayden said: “Our proposals are what I would call a ‘balance package’ of measures. We know that we have to be efficient following our disappointing budget settlement this year and our proposals suggest ways in which we can make savings. However, I also feel it is crucial that investment continues to be made in Firefighter training.”
The consultation responses will be collated and the findings will be presented to the Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Authority Members at their next meeting on Monday, September 22. They will then determine the next course of action, taking into consideration the responses sent in as part of the consultation.
