Health and Safety
Much of the work undertaken by Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service can be very hazardous. For this reason, we have developed a strong safety culture; underpinned by a system of assessing risks; developing safe working procedures to address these risks, delivering routine and refresher competence training and providing suitable and sufficient personal and work equipment. This system assists in minimising the risks to both our personnel and the public in general.
This is illustrated by the fact that, of almost 900 staff, only 90 injuries were reported during the financial year 2006-2007.
Furthermore, there are no prosecutions pending or enforcement action outstanding against Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service .
