Operational Risk Information
Having access to accurate, relevant, and timely information of identified hazards and known risks specific to a site is crucial to the safety of firefighters. Having other essential information with regards to the site will help firefighters to mitigate the impact of an incident on the community, the environment and/or other societal impacts.
In addition to hazards being identified by our staff and other formal channels, we recognise that members of the public and business owners have lots of information that we might find of value. This might include information relating to:
- Large buildings that are being built or refurbished
- Storage of large amounts of chemicals or flammable liquids at your premises
- Changes to your business processes
- Security measures that might hamper the speed of our response
- Absence of water supplies, perhaps because of drought conditions
If you believe that we would benefit from having access to information relating to your business or premises, please e-mail the Operational Intervention Team.
When we receive your information our Operational Intervention Department will determine the most valuable way for us to use it. Information will remain confidential when appropriate, and will only be used to support operational planning.
Thank you for providing information – it will help us to help you and your community in time of need.
