Retained Firefighter

We are not recruiting for Wholetime Firefighters at present, however, we are currently in need of Retained Firefighters at a number of our Retained Fire Stations across Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

We are looking to recruit enthusiastic men and women from all walks of life, with common sense, compassion, sensitivity, creativity, discretion and diplomacy for the role of Firefighter (Retained Duty System), especially in our more rural areas.

If you live or work within 5 minutes of your chosen Retained Fire Station, are over 18 and looking for an exciting spare time opportunity, the Retained Duty System may be for you.

As a trainee Firefighter you will receive an annual retainer of £2,116*. You will also be paid £9.66 per hour for attending incidents and training, plus £3.70 disturbance payment for each call-out. *Providing 120 hours cover per week.
