We are looking to recruit enthusiastic men and women from all walks of life, with common sense, compassion, sensitivity, creativity, discretion and diplomacy for the role of Firefighter (Retained Duty System), especially in our more rural areas.

As a Firefighter (Retained Duty System) you will play a key role within our Service, and will face a wide range of challenges since the role now incorporates both prevention and intervention activities such as;
- Fitting smoke alarms in the homes of vulnerable residents or, rescuing someone from a burning building.
- Explaining the importance of road safety to young drivers or, rescuing a trapped motorist from a vehicle.
- Providing water safety advice at the local village fete or, coordinating the rescue of nearby residents from floodwater.
For many of our Firefighters (Retained Duty System) the role fits around your existing employment / personal commitments. We provide excellent training and skills such as First Aid or Management which are transferable and can prove useful in everyday life –or to your existing employer.
