Cover Types

A.        Full Cover (24 Hours)*

For those people who are able to attend emergency calls 24 hours a day.

This will mean responding to emergencies from both your place of work (if employed) and from your home at any time of the day or night.

B.        Day Cover*

For those people who are able to attend emergency calls during the normal working day i.e. 0700 hrs (7am) to 1800 hrs (6pm) approx. Monday to Friday.

This pattern may suit, for example, an individual who works permanent nights or someone who works close to the Fire Station during the day time but actually lives outside the area.

C.        Shift Cover*

For those people who work a fixed or variable shift pattern which enables them to attend emergency calls at times other than those shown above, that suit the needs of the Service.

D.        Night (and Weekend) Cover*

For those people who are able to give cover at night i.e. 1800 hrs (6pm) to 0700 hrs (7am) the next day.  In addition, people carrying out this type of part cover would normally be expected to respond to emergencies 24 hours a day during the weekend.

*The cover provided will be at the discretion of the needs of the Service.
