News updates via RSS alerts

You can keep up to date with all the news from Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service by subscribing to our RSS feed to get instant updates direct into your web browser or feed reading service when new content is added to the News & Events section of our website.

You can get the latest headlines and updates in one place, as soon as it's published, without having to keep checking the website.

How to start using RSS

To be able to subscribe to our news feed you will need something called a news reader. This is a piece of software that checks the feed and lets you read any new articles that have been added. There are many different versions, some of which are accessed using a browser, and some of which are downloadable applications.

Browser-based news readers let you catch up with your RSS feed subscriptions from any computer and the latest versions of popular internet browsers – such as Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Opera – have built-in features to allow you to subscribe to RSS feeds.

Downloadable applications let you store feeds on your main computer, in the same way that you either download your e-mail using Outlook, or keep it on a web-based service like Hotmail. Many mobile devices can also have newsreaders so you can keep up to date while on the move.

The best way to find a newsreader to suit your needs and your operating system is to do an internet search on RSS news readers.
