Specialist Information
The Incident Response Unit is a mass decontamination and Firefighter decontamination unit provided by the government as part of a national strategy to counter any chemical/hazardous material incidents. It carries a rear mounted fork lift truck (FLT) to facilitate loading and unloading of the decontamination units and associated equipment. The Service operate two IRU's located at Droitwich and Hereford Fire Stations, it carries a crew of two, and is accompanied by a supporting appliance when deployed.
