Education & Information for Parents and Carers
Welcome to the Education Home Page of our website. Here you will find information for parents, carers and children.
Education
We aim to educate children in our local community on how to prevent fires in their homes, by making them aware of the dangers with fire and provide life savings skills to the children and their families. Our lessons are primarily aimed at Years 5 & 8,(Key Stage Two and Key Stage Three) and compliment the national curriculum in many different areas. In our education section you will find our teacher’s resource packs and lesson plans available for use and lots of fun games and activities for the children to take part in.
Schools may apply directly to the Education Team for a school visit or classroom resources using the details below. If there are any national curriculum subjects you believe we can assist you with, or if you have any suggestions on how we may improve our service then please contact our Education Team on 01905 368226 or email Laura Watson at lwatson1@hwfire.org.uk
Juvenile Firesetters Scheme
This scheme was introduced to reduce the risk of fire setting behaviour in our community. The aim is to change the behaviour of young people who engage in anti social behaviour and fire setting in line with government to reduce deliberate fires by 10% by 2010.
The scheme is designed to curb / Stop fire setting behaviour in conjunction with appropriate agencies by providing the appropriate education system to support the children and their families.
This scheme offers tailor made programmes for people living under the threat of fire setting behaviour which meet their specific individual needs.
