Winter Safety Campaign

We are fast approaching the time of year when the nights grow shorter and colder. Unfortunately this also means that the number of fires we attend increases. Below is a short film highlighting the impact an overloaded socket can have on your living room.
Whilst the festive period is meant to be a time of happiness and merriment it is also a time where you are more likely to have a fire in your home. Below are some simple tips you can follow in order to ensure the safety of your family and friends.
REMEMBER THE 12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS...
- Never leave candles unattended
- Always have an escape plan
- Keep decorations away from heat
- Never overload electrical sockets
- Excess alcohol and cooking don’t mix
- Ensure Christmas lights match British Standards
- Never leave cooking unattended
- Always follow the firework code
- Test your smoke alarms every week
- Keep lighters and matches away from children
- Ensure smoking materials are fully extinguished
- Look out for elderly/vulnerable relatives this Christmas
