Tell us more about your fire service career
I joined the fire service in February 2019 as the Head of HR & Development, more recently taking up the role of Assistant Director: Prevention. I started my career working for Marks and Spencer on their graduate scheme, ultimately working as the HR Manager for various stores. Prior to joining the fire service I spent 15 years in local government working in a variety of professional HR related roles at both a strategic and operational level working directly with the senior leadership team. I am proud to be a Chartered Fellow member of the CIPD and hold qualifications in coaching and mentoring.
What makes HWFRS a great place to work?
Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service is a really great place to work because it really values its people and is keen to invest and develop all employees to ensure we deliver the best possible service to our local communities. I have never met a more enthusiastic workforce, who are all focused on doing their absolute very best to contribute in whatever role they perform to saving lives.
