Yfa logoThe Young Firefighters Association (YFA) is a uniformed youth organisation.

Run by volunteers, there are two YFA units, one in Droitwich, the other in Redditch.

New members take a 13-week training course before participating in a passing out parade. This is a chance to demonstrate the skills that they have learned to friends, family, local dignitaries and senior Fire Service officers.

At their passing out parade, the Young Firefighters, who are aged between 13 and 17, are awarded their passing out certificate. From then they are trained in greater detail in preparation for more complex drills.

YFA members also attend an annual camp and take part in other leisure activities.
