Opportunity for young people to join exciting Fire Service youth group

in News

M3d0673An exciting opportunity has recently arisen for 13-17 year olds to join the Young Firefighters Association (YFA), which helps young people challenge themselves, make new friends, learn exciting firefighting skills and help their communities.

For any young Droitwich thrill seekers, an awareness evening will be held at Droitwich Fire Station on Friar Street on 19 October at 7pm.

New members of the YFA will undertake 13 week training course where they will learn plenty of firefighting skills, which will then be demonstrated at a passing out parade. As well as spending time learning new skills on the training yard, YFA members also get attend an annual camp and undertake lots of fun activities.

Marcus Pett, who joined the YFA in 2015, said: "I love the atmosphere of the fire station and it's a real privilege to have access to all of the firefighting equipment."

He continued: "I think others should consider joining the YFA as it is a great place to make new friends, join in with team work, work hard and gain a lot of confidence."

If you are interested in attending the awareness evening, please email droitwichyfa@hwfire.org.uk
