in News

Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service (HWFS) will be supporting two Pride events in September. On Friday 22 September Worcester crews will be attending the Worcester LGBT+ Pride (Rainbow Festival) taking place at the Archdales Club, Blackpole from 1600 – 2100 hours; and the second event, Worcestershire Pride is taking place on Saturday 23 September at the South Quay and Copenhagen Street Car Park from 1200 – 2000 hours.

HWFRS crews will be talking with attendees at the events about fire safety in the home as well as putting on some fire and rescue activities for people to take part in. As well as engaging with LGBT+ community about their fire safety, crews will be discussing joining the Service and what, if any barriers they feel there are and what HWFRS could do to promote jobs to the LGBT+ community.

Crew Commander Louie Longhi said: "HWFRS crews are looking forward to attending the pride events in the city of Worcester on the 22 -23 September and engaging with the LGBT+ community. Please come and visit us at either event to talk to us about working for the Fire Service and your general home fire safety."
