Open Day at Ross-on-Wye Fire Station

in News

This year’s open day will take place at Ross Fire Station in Gloucester Road on Saturday 31 May, from 10am until 3pm.

There will be fire engines and other equipment used by the Service on display, plus a chance to meet the crew and hear first-hand about the work they do and the risks they face as they respond to emergency calls.

Those attending will have chance to pick up a range of safety advice and watch a series of demonstrations throughout the day, including a dramatic cooking fire demonstration, a mock road traffic collision and a breathing apparatus demonstration. There will be refreshments available and local Young Firefighters will also be attending.

Peter Hope, Community Safety Advisor with Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service, said: “The open day promises to be a fun-filled day with plenty to interest visitors of all ages. Entry is free so please make a note of the date, and come along with your family and friends!”
