Safety issues to remember during the flooding as the weekend approaches

in News

With the weekend approaching and flood water still posing considerable dangers across the two counties, Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service are reminding people to continue to be vigilant and remain safe.

Many pubs across the two counties are being used as rest centres so if you are going out for a social evening then please be careful near flood water.

Walking in flood water can be dangerous due to unseen objects and road furniture so you should avoid doing this.

In addition, raw sewage may be contaminating flood water so avoid contact with open wounds.

If you are carrying out recovery action with private pumps then these must be used in well ventilated areas outside to reduce the risks from Carbon Monoxide fumes (CO) and to ensure electrical safety.
