Dishwasher fire

Crews from Worcester and Droitwich attended, and firefighters in breathing apparatus went into the property, using a hose reel to extinguish the fire and damp down. They also isolated electrics and ventilated the property to help clear the smoke.

Watch Commander Craig Newman from H&WFRS said: "It was fortunate the fire was noticed when it was as there wasn't a smoke alarm installed at the property. We'd take this opportunity to remind everyone to ensure they have a working smoke alarm fitted on every floor of their home and to test it on a weekly basis."

Firefighters also carried out a Home Fire Safety Check at the property before they left and called on other homes in the area to offer home fire safety advice.
